The Society for Research on Adolescence is seeking an Editor in Chief for SRA Online. As the public face for the society, the goal of SRA Online is to use the web to convey the excitement and scholarship of a vibrant society. The primary vehicle of SRA Online is the website, which provides new information about SRA and the science of adolescence. The Editor will select and lead a team of Associate Editors and Bloggers in envisioning, designing, editing, and publishing content on the SRA website. The Editor will have a unique opportunity to work with web developers and play a visionary role in the redesign of the SRA website. No technical web design skills are required; the Editor will help imagine a new look for SRA Online and communicate it to a web design team. This position is ideal as a stepping stone to a larger editorial role in the field or for someone with a passion for translating and disseminating research into the public domain. Ideal candidates will also have familiarity and interest in various modes of electronic communication (e.g., social media). This role is an outstanding opportunity to get involved with SRA, help shape its future image, and contribute to the intellectual life of the society.

Specifically, the Editor is responsible for:

• Recruiting, hiring, and supervising a team of web contributors (e.g., Associate Editors, Bloggers).

• Envisioning content for the website and other SRA communication outlets.

• Performing editorial duties to ensure web content is accurate, readable, and relevant to a diverse audience.

• Collaborating with other SRA leaders (e.g., Executive Council, JRA Editor, Publications Committee, Media and Communications Committee) to maximize the public impact and reach of SRA.

The position begins July 1, 2017, with a term of three years. The Editor will receive an annual stipend of $5,000 plus $3000 to be distributed among the Associate Editors. Interested candidates should send a CV and very brief statement of interest and vision to Laura Wray-Lake, wraylake@ucla.edu. Nominations are encouraged as well. Deadline for nominations: Friday, May 5, 2017.
