In addition, the Research, Public Policy, and Information Committee also presents three awards at SRA Biennial Meetings:

  • Best Authored Book Award
  • Best Edited Book Award
  • Best Article Award
Books or articles published between January 1 of a biennial meeting year and December 31 of the year preceding the next biennial meeting (e.g., for 2012: January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2011)) are eligible. (Articles or books that are in press and will be published by December 31 prior to the Biennial Meeting may be submitted). Article submissions must be from peer-reviewed journals.

Nominations of articles or books exemplifying research on adolescence with implications for social policy from a variety of disciplines are encouraged, and self-nominations are welcome. Criteria for selection are: (1) Research and theory meet high standards, (2) policy issues are substantive and timely, and (3) the work clearly articulates the implications of the research for a social policy issue, such that policy problems are clarified and/or solutions are illustrated.

Submissions for the Social Policy Awards should include a copy of the book or article, a cover letter articulating how the book or article meets the award criteria, and, for book nominations, a 3-5 page summary of the nominated book.

Deadline for Nominations: October 15 prior to the SRA Biennial Meeting
